Our Team

Miami Senior Advisor is a small, local team. We're not a national call center — we work with South Florida families, in English and Spanish, and we know the region's neighborhoods, hospitals, and providers firsthand.

What our team does

Our team leads placement work, helping families translate a stressful situation into a clear, short list of options — matching families to communities that fit not just clinically and financially, but culturally, a constant priority in South Florida.

We handle benefits navigation: Florida SMMC Long-Term Care Medicaid, VA Aid & Attendance, and the paperwork that stands between families and the help they qualify for — including untangling a rejected Medicaid application or finding a community that takes the VA payment directly.

And we focus on memory care: recognizing when it's time for a secured, dementia-trained setting, joining tours to ask the questions families don't know to ask, and flagging the contract clauses that matter most for someone with a progressing condition.

How we work

When a family reaches out, one of us has a short conversation to understand the care level, budget, neighborhood, language preference, and timeline. We then hand-match two or three Florida AHCA-licensed providers, coordinate tours, help compare quotes, and stay involved through paperwork and the first weeks after a move. The service is free for families — we're paid by provider partners only when a placement matches.

Our commitment

Local, not a call center

The difference families notice most is that they talk to the same small team throughout — not a rotating cast of agents reading from a national script. Our advisors live and work in South Florida, tour the communities they recommend, and know the difference between neighborhoods that can look identical on a map. That local, continuous relationship is what lets us catch the things that matter: a discharge clause buried in a contract, a community whose overnight staffing doesn't match its daytime polish, or a small Spanish-speaking adult family-care home that would never show up in a national database but is exactly right for a particular family.

Bilingual by default

In a region where so many families are most comfortable in Spanish, bilingual service isn't a feature we bolt on — it's how we work. How we vet the providers we recommend

Before we ever send a family to a provider, that provider has to clear a few bars: an active, clean license on FloridaHealthFinder with no open disciplinary action; an inspection history we've reviewed; and a willingness to be transparent about pricing. We prioritize providers our advisors have visited in person and that we'd be comfortable recommending to our own families. If a provider won't disclose its all-in monthly cost, or its survey history raises flags, we don't refer to it — full stop.

What guides our work

Two principles sit behind everything we do. First, we work for families, not facilities — our recommendations follow your needs, not who pays us. Second, the best placement is the one that fits the whole person: clinically, financially, and culturally.
